GreenHouse Capital sponsors Disrupt Africa Report

Access to market information in the ever-changing African startup space is a perpetual challenge for African entrepreneurs and investors. Whether it’s identifying a gap in the market for a new service or navigating expansions or mergers, African firms need access to data and analysis to inform crucial business decisions. Empowering African entrepreneurs is a top priority for us at GreenHouse Capital, and that is why we are excited to be supporting Disrupt Africa’s Finnovating for Africa report this year. Moreover, we are thrilled to be working with Disrupt Africa and its partners to make the report open source and available to anyone looking for information on the fintech ecosystem in Africa.

Disrupt Africa has released Finnovating for Africa every two years since 2017 to track the extraordinary development of the African fintech ecosystem. The report includes analysis of the regional spread and growth of fintech ventures, discussions of startup activity in various sub-sectors of the fintech industry, data on fintech startup launches by year, tracking of funding and acquisitions in the fintech space, details of fintech accelerator programs open to African applicants, lists of financial institutions with initiatives aimed at African fintech startups, and a full list of every known African fintech startup.

While previous editions of the report were only available behind a paywall, this year’s report will be available to the public at no charge. GreenHouse Capital’s sponsorship of the report, along with the support of leading firms including Flutterwave, MFS Africa, and Quona Capital, will enable Disrupt Africa to provide Finnovating for Africa 2021 to everyone for free at launch. We believe it is critical for African entrepreneurs, investors, and corporates to be able to access this invaluable resource and we look forward to sharing this report when it releases in June 2021.
