About the Role
We are looking for a self-starting, result driven Senior Associate to join our investment team. In this role, you will be owning the end-to-end due diligence process in evaluating investment opportunities as well as working closely with our existing portfolio companies. If this, is you; You will have an entrepreneurial mindset with natural inclination towards relationship building and business ownership.
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant investment experience (Investment Banking, Venture Capital, Management consulting) or have previously worked in a finance/ strategy role within a high growth start-up
- Strong analytical and negotiations skills, with a demonstrated ability to both identify market trends and establish partnerships
- Deep understanding of ecosystem strategy and the role that investments play in supporting the emergence of a thriving ecosystem
- Educational background in Economics/ Finance (MBA preferred)
- Demonstrated strong written communication skills with an emphasis on thoughtful, clear communication
- Experience and deep understanding of FinTech for emerging markets is preferred
Responsibilities
- Source and identify potential new investments- deeply plug into the Africa & ME tech ecosystems
- Expand and maintain your network with existing and new companies in the ecosystem
- Lead all aspects of the deal process, including new and follow-on investments
- Be a brand ambassador for the fund
- Take board and observer seats in the portfolio
- Ensure startup companies’ information (deal pipeline) is being tracked and up to date
- Ensure operational activities as needed by the fund are sorted (by closing and finding suitable service providers for banking, company registration, insurance, etc.)
- Work on operational activities required for fund, including creating quarterly reports on fund performance
- Support portfolio companies based on their relevant needs (Business development, market expansion strategy etc)
